Taos Ski Valley Hotels Do Romance Right

Whether for couples or families looking for a little romance with the kids in tow, a great hotel can make your vacation dreams come true.

There’s something inherently romantic about snow-capped mountains and cozy evenings by the fire. When you combine these with luxury accommodations and world-class amenities, you’ve got the perfect recipe for an unforgettable couples’ retreat… and for the kids, too! Taos Ski Valley hotels offer everything you need to focus on what matters most – quality time with your special someone.

These days, the traveler is often the travel agent, investing lots of time and money designing the perfect vacation. While everyone loves a little DIY flexibility, sometimes for special occasions it’s nicer when someone takes care of it for you. Enter, the hotel stay! Novel? Maybe not. Ideal and overlooked? You bet! Check out these sure things that fit the bill for romance from Valentine’s Day to Spring Break!

Edelweiss Lodge and Spa: Alpine Romance in the Heart of the Village

Imagine stepping out of your elegant suite and onto the slopes within minutes, or unwinding with a couple’s massage after an exhilarating day on the mountain. At Edelweiss Lodge and Spa, located in the center of Taos Ski Valley village, these experiences aren’t just possibilities – they’re daily indulgences.

Wine Lovers

The Edelweiss brings European-inspired luxury to the heart of New Mexico’s premier ski destination. Its prime location means you can transition seamlessly from a morning on the slopes to an afternoon of pampering. Blonde Bear Tavern, its on-site restaurant and bar complete with fireplace-lit lounge, elevates the après-ski experience. Skilled bartenders craft classic cocktails with a twist in an intimate setting.

This is your favorite neighborhood restaurant and bar transported to a ski town. Wine lovers will rally around a familiar by-the-glass list that also checks all the boxes for the adventurous.  On the menu, each entree lists a wine or beer pairing suggestion. Super thoughtful and no fuss. Did we mention they make a great martini if you’re in the mood?

There are also plenty of not after-thought plates to satisfy vegans and vegetarians, and helpful allergen notations already on the menu so don’t even need to inquire! We love the Pan Roasted Scottish Salmon (GF) with Sticky Rice Cake, Oyster Bok Choy and Vietnamese Yellow Curry. It’s a flavor bomb cooked to perfection that anything from Albariño to sauvignon blanc loves… down to the snap of crispy skin! Chef Bill also added two more steak dishes to the menu to complement the long running Filet, a Steak Frites and a Ribeye. The kids menu is a plus, and the food is always delicious. You’ll always leave remembering why you’ll return… exceptional service!

Spa Sanctuary

The spa at Edelweiss offers a range of couples’ treatments designed to help you unwind together. From traditional massage therapies to specialized alpine-inspired treatments, the spa provides a peaceful retreat where couples can relax and rejuvenate side by side.
