Join Taos Trail Runners and ECTA for a trail maintenance day on the San Cristobal Canyon Trail. This work day is open to the public and anyone and everyone are warmly invited to join!

When: September 13th 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Where: Meet at the San Cristobal Canyon trailhead (36.617013, -105.610471)
What to Expect: A day filled with fun, trail maintenance, and new friends on the San Cristobal Canyon trail. Work will consist of basic trail maintenance: widening narrow sections of trail and cutting back encroaching vegetation. We’ll be using tools like pick mattocks, McLeods, shovels, loppers, and hand saws.

We will be hiking ~5-6 miles roundtrip. The trail is uphill, has uneven footing, and multiple creek crossings.

What to Bring: Please wear long pants, sturdy hiking shoes/work boots, work gloves, and eye protection (sunglasses okay). Bring a day pack with plenty of food and water, sunscreen, layers, and rain gear.

We will be on the trail all day and not returning to the cars for lunch.
