From the top of Lift 4 all the way to the bottom of the Kachina Basin, the Green Chile flow trail is 3.5 miles of buttery banked turns, amazing scenery, and fun for the whole family. So, while Taos may have a reputation for steep, challenging wintertime terrain, Green Chile was built with one thing in mind: to provide a summertime experience that most people can enjoy. It doesn’t matter if you own a bike or if you are looking to rent a bike from Taos Sports’ fleet, this trail will appeal to just about anyone who is interested in mountain biking. Green Chile is the first of a series being built by Gravity Logic, out of Whistler, BC, with the help of the Taos Ski Valley Bike Park Crew.
The Taos Ski Valley Via Ferrata, situated at 11,500 feet in the sub-alpine ecosystem of Kachina Peak, features beginner through advanced Via Ferrata route challenges, a 100-foot skybridge, and a double-cable catwalk. Novice climbers can experience the thrill of cabled mountain travel under the supervision of a guide, and progress to vertical terrain with spectacular views of the Rio Hondo and Wheeler Peak Wilderness.
