Taos Opera Institute’s Fall Into Song Annual Benefit for Student Scholarships features MET Opera Contralto Nicole Joy Michell, and TOI Faculty member, Pianist Cheryl Lindquist. They will be sharing favorite opera arias, art song, jazz, musical theatre, and more!

Nicole is a remarkable artist whose career has taken her to some of the great opera stages of the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Sarasota Opera, New York City Opera, Teatro di San Carlo, and Semperoper in Germany. She made her MET debut in the Grammy Award-winning production of Porgy and Bess and has since appeared in several productions at the MET, including the historic Fire Shut Up in My Bones by Terrence Blanchard. Her rich contralto voice and wonderful artistry make this an evening you will not want to miss!

Cheryl Lindquist has been a beloved part of the TOI family for many years. Cheryl will return in May and June 2027 as TOI’s outreach concert and masterclass pianist, sharing her extraordinary musicianship.

Fall Into Song is also an opportunity to support the next generation of singers. The concert is generously sponsored by Audris Griffith and Kay Anderson, meaning that the proceeds from every ticket purchased can go directly toward supporting the 2027 Young Artists. A delicious dessert reception will follow the concert, providing a few moments for everyone to meet and chat with the incredible artists.
