ECTA Adopt-A-Trail Work Day with FITaos Youth Bike Teams and ECTA for a trail maintenance, fun in the sun, and community on the Amole Canyon and Ojito Maes trails.

When: August 2nd, 10:30 AM
Where: Meet at the Amole Canyon trailhead parking area (36.190840, -105.605629)
What to Expect: With a few different projects for you to choose from, there is something for all ages:
Bike-Powered Trail Maintenance on Ojito Maes Trail – Work will consist of riding bikes (or walking) into the work site while carrying compact tools and digging drainage features to reduce erosion on the trail. Tools we’ll be using include pick mattocks, shovels, and McLeods.
Adopt-A-Trail Sign Installation – Work will consist of digging wooden sign posts into the ground and mounting a small sign using tools like post hole diggers, digging bars, drills, and socket wrenches.
Rollover Gate Installation – Work will consist of carrying and partially assembling a rollover gate on the trail using tools like socket wrenches, power tools, fencing pliers, shovels, and pick mattocks.
What to Bring: Please wear long pants, sturdy hiking shoes/work boots, work gloves, eye protection (sunglasses okay), and a helmet if you plan on doing bike maintenance. Bring a day pack with plenty of food and water, sunscreen, layers, and rain gear.

ECTA will provide the hard hats and tools, as needed.
