Through the Looking Glass Structure and Imagination: A Teen Art Showcase

- | 1 min read

March 26, 2026 – April 24, 2026

Art, science, and mathematics are not separate disciplines. They are connected ways of seeing, understanding, and expressing the world, and this exhibition brings that connection to life through the work of young artists discovering how observation becomes insight and how insight becomes expression.

This collaborative exhibition brings together high school artists from Taos Municipal Schools, in partnership with UNM Taos and the Millicent Rogers Museum. Each piece reflects a student’s exploration of the shared principles between creative and analytical thinking, where curiosity, structure, and imagination come together.

The work shown here goes beyond technical skill. It reflects a process of learning to look closely, think deeply, and respond with intention. Students engage the elements of art as a language shaped through practice, patience, and personal discovery rather than rigid rules.

What you see is not just the result of instruction, but the growth of individual voice and perspective. When young people are given the space to explore, they develop meaningful ways to interpret and share their experience of the world.

Opening reception March 26th from 5pm to 7pm.
