Our mission: to share and celebrate the arts and cultures of the Southwest

Named after the Standard Oil heiress and fashion icon, the museum was founded in 1956 with Millicent Rogers’ personal collection. It has since since grown to over 7,000 objects, and hosts a variety of events throughout the year. The museum features 15 galleries that focus on the art, culture, and history of Taos and the greater Southwest. Highlights are the museum’s namesake’s jewelry collection and rotating special exhibits. Visit the website for seasonal hours, special exhibits and events.

The Museum Store has been selling authentic contemporary and vintage American Indian and Hispanic art for more than 30 years. Most items are purchased directly from the artists and we guarantee their authenticity. We also offer handmade items from many of the talented artists in the Taos, New Mexico community.

The Museum and Museum Store are open year-round!

The Museum is closed on Wednesdays November – March.
