The Gallery at Hotel Willa is honored to present Josh Tafoya: WOVEN, a debut solo exhibition from Taos-based fiber artist and fashion designer Josh Tafoya. The show highlights the full breadth of Tafoya’s creative work—from handwoven textile art to high-concept couture showcased at Paris Fashion Week.

This exhibition celebrates Tafoya’s evolution as an artist deeply rooted in Northern New Mexico while also engaging in global conversations around fashion, identity, and tradition. Tafoya is a recent LVMH Prize Semi-Finalist 2025 and 2023 CFDA Interim Member. WOVEN brings together sculptural fiber pieces, wearable art, and fashion-forward design in a vibrant display of artistry, discipline, and vision. This is the first solo exhibition of Tafoya’s work in Taos. The artist states, “I’m honored to share my world and my vision of our traditional crafts, with my home of Taos”.

“Josh’s work is a powerful blend of skill, vision, and cultural storytelling,” says Matt Thomas, Director of The Paseo Project. “His ability to move between fiber traditions and high fashion with such authenticity is truly exciting. We’re delighted to share this work with his community here in Taos.”

Organized by The Paseo Project, WOVEN is the latest installment in the year-round exhibition program at The Gallery at Hotel Willa, which showcases contemporary work by local and regional artists. The curators would like to thank the Museum of International Folk Art for their assistance.
