Thee Sacred Souls

Thee Sacred Souls with La Lom & The Womack Sisters at Red Willow Park, Taos New Mexico.

Thee Sacred Souls released their self-titled debut album in 2022 on Daptone Records after the viral success of their single “Can I Call You Rose?”.  What followed has been a remarkable rise for this young San Diego 7-piece, bringing their own version of SoCal “souldies” to a new generation of listeners. Their highly anticipated sophomore album,  Got A Story To Tell, released in October 2024, is filled with immortal grooves, classic vocal harmonies, and sincere, heartfelt lyrics about love and loss.

Their albums feature all original songs, written and performed by the founding trio of Alex Garcia (drums, guitar), Sal Samano (bass, drums) and Joshua Lane (vocals), and recorded at Penrose Recorders in Riverside, CA, the studio built by producer and Daptone Records co-founder Gabriel Roth (aka Bosco Mann).  In just three years, the band’s “music of terrifyingly high quality” (UNCUT) has brought them to NPR’s Tiny Desk and TV show appearances including Austin City Limits, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CBS Saturday, Kelly Clarkson, Jools Holland, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.  An ever-growing list of fans includes Beyoncé, SZA, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beats, Leon Bridges, and Kylie Jenner, and they’ve recently been sampled by Vince Staples and Samara Cyn.  Thee Sacred Souls have toured the globe, playing main stages at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Newport Folk, Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza, and nearly 10,000 fans attended their 2024 headlining concert at Celebrate Brooklyn.

In the vibrant tapestry of Los Angeles’s music scene, LA LOM stands out for its ability to seamlessly weave together the diverse genres and cultures of the city into its music. Short for The Los Angeles League of Musicians, LA LOM is composed of LA natives Zac Sokolow (Guitar), Jake Faulkner (Bass), and Nicholas Baker (Drums/Percussion).

The roots of LA LOM reach back to 2019, when the band was assembled to play five nights a week in the lobby of the historic Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. Initially tasked with providing background music for hotel patrons, tourists, and passersby off the street, LA LOM soon began experimenting with a genre-transcending repertoire that reflects the diverse musical diaspora of Angelenos.

LA LOM started out reimagining instrumental renditions of the soulful ballads from the 1950s and ’60s that they grew up listening to on LA’s oldies station, K-EARTH 101, evoking the laid-back aesthetic that defines the region, and drawing inspiration from luminaries like Smokey Robinson, Aaron Neville, and Brenda and the Tabulations.

The Womack Sisters—BG, Zeimani, and Kucha Womack—are a new generation of soul royalty, renowned for their blend of R&B, soul, and gospel influences drawn from their rich family legacy. As granddaughters of the legendary Sam Cooke, daughters of renowned soul and R&B artists Womack & Womack, and nieces of Bobby Womack, they carry on the Womack family’s musical traditions, infusing their work with the soul and passion that has defined the family’s impact on music for generations.
