Isak Immanuel
Born in Taos, New Mexico (1975), Isak Immanuel is an interdisciplinary artist, dancer, and filmmaker whose work explores themes of precarity, presence, and a sense of place. Through site-immersive multimedia performances, video installations, and communal social arts practices, his projects bring together individual and collective perspectives. His works have been presented in public spaces, abandoned and developmental sites, museums, theaters, and both urban and rural environments.

Immanuel is the artistic director of Tableau Stations, an intercultural arts platform he founded in 2004. His practice is informed by a lifelong engagement with shifting landscapes—both physical and cultural. Raised in the contrasting environments of the mesas of Taos and later in East Los Angeles, he carries a deep awareness of place, memory, and intergenerational relationships into his artistic process.

For over twenty-five years, he has worked internationally, with projects spanning the San Francisco Bay Area, Japan, and numerous other locations. His work is rooted in quiet observation, deep listening, and an openness to multiple perspectives, fostering meaningful connections between people and place.
