SUMMARY:ECTA Adopt-A-Trail Work Day - Multi-Day Backpack on the Columbine Canyon Trail
DESCRIPTION:Join Wild Earth Llama Adventures and ECTA for a llama supported\, multi-day trail maintenance project on the Columbine Canyon trail! \nSpace is limited on this project\, and folks will be admitted on a first-come\, first-serve basis. Please RSVP by September 20th by emailing carel@enchantedcircletrails.org. \nDetails:\nWhen: Sunday\, September 27th – Tuesday\, September 29th\nWhere: Meet at the entrance to the Columbine Campground (36.681449\, -105.515699)\nWhat to Expect: Three days filled with fun\, trail maintenance\, and llamas! \nWe will be backpacking about 4 miles into our campsite and working on the upper 2 miles of the Columbine Canyon trail. Work will consist of basic trail maintenance like cutting out deadfall from the trail\, improving drainage\, widening the trail\, and cutting back encroaching vegetation. \nVolunteers will be responsible for providing their own gear and food for the duration of the trip. ECTA will reimburse participants up to $74 for meals and incidentals. \nWhat to Bring: For trail work\, please wear long pants\, sturdy hiking shoes/work boots\, work gloves\, and eye protection (sunglasses okay). \nBring a large pack that is able to carry three days’ worth of food\, layers (including rain gear)\, sleeping bag\, sleeping pad\, tent\, a way to properly store food (bear hang\, bear can\, etc.)\, water filter (we will be camping near a water source)\, a stove if desired\, eating utensils (bowl\, spork\, mug\, etc.)\, and anything else you may need. \nPlease bring wag bags or similar waste disposal bags to pack out human waste. The Columbine Canyon is a heavily used and sensitive environment\, and we’ll be utilizing Leave No Trace principles. \n*We will be in the backcountry for the duration of the project and not returning to the trailhead or cars* \nPlease email carel@enchantedcircletrails.org if you plan on coming. \nECTA will provide the hard hats and tools. \nWe hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:The Annual San Geronimo Feast Day at Taos Pueblo is September 30th. Visitors are welcome to come and share in the day of family\, friends\, and feast. Traditionally\, a trade fair for visitors near and far. As part of our traditions and customs we have our footraces in the morning\, open to the public at 8 am\, you’re more than welcome to observe the morning festivities. Through out the day an open market will be accessible to take home wares from an array of visiting vendors. \nThe afternoon will be filled with laughter as the Koshare (for lack of written term in the Tiwa or Sacred clowns for lack of term in English) greet the community for the remainder of the day (1 pm – 5 pm\, approximately). Please be mindful this day is a sacred day and all elements of the Taos Pueblo community are to be respected. Due to the sacredness of the day there are NO RECORDING DEVICES of any kind are allowed.
