DESCRIPTION:ECTA Adopt-A-Trail Work Day with Taos Women’s Outdoor Adventurers and ECTA for a trail maintenance day on the Yerba Canyon trail. \nWhen: May 9th 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM\nWhere: Meet at the Yerba Canyon Trailhead (36.569299\, -105.518389)\nWhat to Expect: A day filled with fun and trail maintenance with a group of rad\, hardworking women. Work may consist of basic trail maintenance: improving drainage\, tread\, and clearing vegetation and downed logs from the trail. We’ll be using tools like pick mattocks\, McLeods\, shovels\, loppers\, crosscut saws\, axes\, and hand saws. \nWe will be hiking anywhere from 2-4 miles roundtrip. The trail starts at 8\,000′ and ascends 1\,000 feet every mile. It’s steep in sections with uneven footing and creek crossings. \nWhat to Bring: Please wear long pants\, sturdy hiking shoes/work boots\, work gloves\, and eye protection (sunglasses okay). DESCRIPTION:Jaguar Stevens with Kyote Radio & Sweet Nothin’ at Taos Mothership! \nJaguar Stevens formed when two high school English teachers began to purge their workday anxieties through rock n’ roll. Steve Bartholomew delivers tempestuous rock riffs on the guitar while Caleb Wohlust transports the audience with contemplative lyrics and a truly unhinged vocal performance. The spaces between the primitive\, pounding drumbeat of David Glantz are filled by Charlie Frost’s masterfully melodious synth textures. Although fans have compared their sound to the Talking Heads\, Nick Cave\, and the Cramps\, Jaguar Stevens finds inspiration everywhere. Above all\, they strive for originality. Their self-titled debut album captures their earnest attempt to transcend time by offering songs of passion\, betrayal\, and yearning. Their electric\, raucous live performance spellbinds the audience in an exaltation of rock n’ roll reverie.\n\nKyote Radio is a New Mexico based garage rock band with roots in the West Texas ghost town of Terlingua\, a remote desert outpost where frontman Micah Paredes was born and raised before landing in Austin in 2007. Paredes leads Kyote Radio on electric guitar and vocals\, delivering sharp songwriting backed by a band that provides a full dose of heavy riffs\, anchored by a thundering rhythm section featuring collaborators Nick Smith\, Wesley Riddle\, Russ Connell\, Nick Blossom and Ray Heilman. \nSweet Nothin’ is Albuquerque based high energy garage rock band – loud and raw.
