SUMMARY:Dead Feathers
DESCRIPTION:Based out of Chicago\, IL\, Dead Feathers has proven themselves to be a band with exceeding potential and lasting appeal since day one. \nBuilding off of the success of their 2019 debut album “All is Lost” on Ripple Music\, Dead Feathers has been gaining a growing fan base across North America and overseas through ambitious touring and supporting acts like Kikagaku Moyo\, All them Witches\, SLIFT\, and many more in their home city. During that time\, they have established their name and carved a debut full-length album and the anticipation of their sophomore album “Full Circle ” soon to be released on September 22nd\, 2023 on Ripple Music. \nTheir live shows\, filled with sensual and thunderous energy on stage\, have put concert goers under their spell. Brought on by the soulful and emotional vocals from Marissa Allen combined with The fuzz and reverb backed guitars\, ever flowing bass lines\, and booming drums\, Dead Feathers sets a mood which has been crafted with the skill and artistry they’ve come to be known for. \nWhile Dead Feathers has been compared to various classic bands such as Jefferson Airplane\, Big Brother & the Holding Company\, and Frumpy\, along with modern acts like Blues Pills\, Black Mountain\, and Graveyard\, they bring a style and songwriting that is exclusively their own.

SUMMARY:Heather Trost & AJ Woods
DESCRIPTION:As Heather Trost put together her new album Desert Flowers\, she imagined herself sitting out on the mesa amidst the arid climate and sand. Even with such little water to survive\, wildflowers bloom. This vision is an embellishment of Trost’s Albuquerque surroundings\, an intersection of rural splendor and emptiness. She remains focused on those purple\, yellow and orange flowers with faces beaming up to the sky\, thriving on very little. “How does a flower grow in the desert?” she sings. Desert Flowers postulates the potential for new life. Using the messages from the unconscious during sleep\, the record ultimately conceives a bridge to the world beyond our own. \nWritten and recorded in her home studio\, Trost began with harmonic frameworks\, allowing the melodies to naturally take root. Introductory track “Frog And Toad Are Friends” – yes\, named after the book – is like a surf song from a sci-fi movie. Trost sees it as a mindwipe\, “a playful kind of romp to help shake off the cobwebs and get the bones moving.”

SUMMARY:Tone Ranger Ensemble
DESCRIPTION:Tone Ranger Ensemble with Support from Ph8 w/ the Bees & Locusts & Consoul Beats  \nJoin us for a night of electronic music for our very last show of the 2023 concert season here at the Mothership! Let’s go out with a bang and dance the night away Friday\, October 27th!  \nThis is the debut performance of Tone Ranger’s new ensemble featuring singer Melas Leukos and violinist Brayden Schmick.  \nTone Ranger’s music embodies the beauty of the desert – its sands\, suns\, stars\, and oases. Combining classic Americana instrumentation with house and ambient elements\, he presents an expansive sound\, reaching ecstatic peaks and deep sonic valleys. Based in Santa Fe\, Tone Ranger is one of the most in-demand live electronic acts emerging from the Southwest. He can be found in strange art installations\, on major stages\, performing out in the desert or at experimental drive-in theaters. \nPh8 w/ the Bees & Locusts  \nCody Mirabal is an Indigenous musician from the village of Taos Pueblo in Northern New Mexico. Cody also know as “PH8” is a self taught artist who has been writing and producing music for over two decades. His musical passion began at a young age when he was inspired by the rising hip-hop scene of the early 90’s. He chose the graffiti tag for himself “PH8” which was his twist on the word Fate. Cody’s creativity with rhythmic beats and song concepts lead him to form the Taos based hip-hop group PO.10.CEE\, in which he performed and toured with traveling coast to coast. \nConsoul Beats  \nConSoul is a dj/producer who specializes in getting the dance floor grooving. Mixing a wide range of styles from disco\, house\, hip-hop and soul. ConSoul plays music that connects the crowd and keeps them moving.
