SUMMARY:Charlie Marvin
DESCRIPTION:Charlie Marvin’s musical voyage began in the foothills of the Sierra’s. Music found it’s way into his life in his senior year of high school after a series of injuries. Down and out and smoking pot. Hanging with a different crowd because of it. He ditched school one day and headed out to some property near the high school and Rubin started playing some guitar. He knew right then that that was what he was suppose to be doing. Something was simmering below the surface for years. Here was a chance for it to reveal itself. It was lightning in a bottle. A complete opening of new corridors of expression and joy and liberation. Once it got inside\, it changed everything. It was a whole new lens to see the world through. And that lens was ripe with adventure then and it continues to elevate and enthrall the soul on a regular basis to this day. Blessed to the bone. \nAfter much tutoring from the ever elusive Rubin Jackson\, it was time to start playing for people and exchanging some of this delicious energy with others. From the beaches of San Diego\, to the stages of Los Angeles and San Francisco\, to the streets of France and Spain\, across this beautiful country\, and beyond\, the music continues to thrive and carve out it’s own little place in the world. It’s music that comes from the soul and is the common thread throughout the meanderings and the journey of this ever-changing miracle we’re all a part of. It’s hard to believe that we get to have such an experience as this. Thank you for taking the time to listen to the moments and adventures which have inspired one person enough to sing about them.

SUMMARY:Gustavo Alonso López
DESCRIPTION:Guitarist and composer Gustavo Alonso López presents an intimate evening of live Flamenco guitar in celebration of his third full-length studio album\, Sonanta Con Metales. For this performance\, Gustavo will reimagine works from each of his three albums for solo guitar. \nAbout Sonanta Con Metales \nReleased in Spring of 2026 and created in collaboration with trumpeter Jay Roulston\, Lopez’s newest record showcases Flamenco guitar in the context of a brass ensemble. Firmly grounded in the tradition and heritage of Spanish Flamenco\, Sonanta Con Metales is also rooted in the lands of the American West. It was composed while Gustavo served as an Artist-In-Residence in Taos at the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation and draws on influences ranging from Flamenco to Jazz\, film music\, and Minimalism. \nAbout the Artist \nGustavo Alonso López is a North American Flamenco guitarist and composer based in Walla Walla\, WA. Born and raised in Idaho as the son of a Salvadoran immigrant\, his music emerges from Flamenco’s grassroots oral tradition and the institutionalized Western notation system\, borrows concepts from classical music and jazz\, and blurs lines between composition and improvisation. Dismantling stereotypes and building cross-cultural dialogue and understanding through music are key elements of Gustavo’s creative practice. He has released three full-length studio albums\, Punto Lejano (2014)\, Espasón (2023)\, and Sonanta Con Metales (2026). His work has received support from the Fulbright US Student Program\, ArtWalla\, The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation\, Artist Trust\, Audiosocket\, and the Ucross Foundation. He also serves as a Studio Music Instructor in Guitar at Whitman College. \nClick below for more information: \nArtist Website: studioespason.com \nBandcamp: https://gustavoalonsolopez.bandcamp.com/music
