SUMMARY:HR (founder of Bad Brains) & The Human Rights Movement
DESCRIPTION:The Mothership presents HR (founder of Bad Brains) & The Human Rights Movement w/ Los Domingueros\, & Iriebellion. \nHR is best known as the legendary frontman of the groundbreaking fusion band Bad Brains. Alongside his brother Earl Hudson\, guitarist Gary “Dr. Know” Miller\, and bassist Darryl Jenifer\, HR helped form the band in Washington\, D.C. in 1979. Originally performing together as the jazz fusion group Mind Power\, the band soon evolved into Bad Brains\, combining blistering punk rock with reggae\, funk\, and spiritual consciousness. With unprecedented speed\, precision\, and musical ability\, Bad Brains took the Washington\, D.C. music scene by storm and quickly became one of the most influential bands in American punk history. Their fearless energy and genre-defying sound helped shape the direction of hardcore punk while breaking racial barriers in a predominantly white scene. Beyond the music\, HR and Bad Brains introduced the philosophy of Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) — a message of spiritual awareness\, unity\, and self-empowerment that continues to inspire generations of fans around the world. Today\, HR carries that legacy forward with HR & The Human Rights Movement\, delivering powerful reggae performances rooted in the same message of positivity\, consciousness\, and unity that defined his career from the very beginning. \nFounded in 2022\, Los Domingueros fuse ska\, punk\, cumbia\, salsa\, and reggae into a energetic\, danceable sound. The lineup reflects the band’s cross-cultural roots\, with members hailing from Mexico\, El Salvador\, and the United States. Lyrically\, their songs explore struggle and redemption\, delivering a message that resonates while inviting audiences to move. This compelling blend has earned them international gigs and slots with legendary acts\, building an impressive résumé and broad fanbase. \nIriebellion is a 6-piece roots reggae influenced band from Taos\, New Mexico whose original music features 3-part harmonies\, catchy hooks\, and high energy bass lines topped off with brilliant guitar solos creating a powerful foundation for gritty lyrics with super conscious hip-hop on top. Their songs bring positive messages about life\, love and community. Their music will create an unforgettable experience\, that will leave you singing in the sunrise! \nIriebellion has brought forth their 1st album and continues to write more than they can keep up with recording. Look for their 2nd album in 2025. The bands talent\, hard work and chemistry has granted them the honor to share the stage with such legendary performers including: Black Uhuru\, The Wailers\, Stephen Marley\, Israel Vibration & Roots Radics\, The Itals\, The Gladiators\, Mike Love\, Hirie\, Skanks Roots Project and many\, many more! \nTickets on sale now! \nLodging discounts from our hotel partners:\nHotel Don FernandoSagebrush Inn & SuitesHampton Inn Taos

SUMMARY:Tone Ranger and Siren & Seer
DESCRIPTION:The Mothership Presents Tone Ranger and Siren & Seer. \n\nTone Ranger crafts infectious dance music rooted in the mysterious beauty of the American Southwest. A composer\, producer\, and sought-after collaborator\, he draws on a decade of wanderings through desert plateaus\, remote forests\, and multicultural borderlands to create soundscapes that are at once ancient and futuristic. \nSince his 2018 debut EP\, Tone Ranger has become one of the most distinctive artists in the Southwest. From opening slots for electronic icons Orbital and Thievery Corporation to recent appearances at Shambhala and Burning Man\, he has forged a reputation for transporting crowds into vivid sonic landscapes. \nSiren & Seer is the new vision of producer/multi-instrumentalist saQi and vocalist/songwriter Diamonde. Hailing from the hills of Northern California\, the duo gives a fresh take on live electronic music by merging traditional idioms of Americana\, folk\, gypsy and blues with cutting edge dance music genres. \nS&S tastefully reimagine sounds of the past for a modern context and create a multi-dimensional world where refinement of a Victorian era can co-exist with roots of Appalachia and rawness of the urban underground. A major goal of the project is to bring a realness and vulnerability to the dance floor while still bringing sound that is hot and heavy. Siren and Seer seek to represent the voices silenced\, the cries unheard\, the spirits searching for a way home. “We want to help people heal with our music and have an amazing time doing it…” ~saQi \nTickets and information \nLodging discounts from our hotel partners:Hotel Don FernandoSagebrush Inn & SuitesHampton Inn Taos

SUMMARY:Dirtwire & The Floozies
DESCRIPTION:The Mothership & Lensic 360 Presents: Dirtwire & The Floozies. \nDirtwire stands poised between ancient Mother Earth and modern technology\, a blend of ethnomusicology and the psychedelic trance state\, gut-bucket delta blues and what the band variously dubs “back-porch space cowboy blues\, swamptronica\, and electro-twang.” It’s a sound informed by Dirtwire’s travels and performances around the globe\, where East meets West and North joins South. From the favelas in Brazil\, Femi Kuti’s Shrine in Lagos\, Tokyo’s bluegrass clubs\, Ayahuasca ceremonies in Central America\, Gamelan performances in Bali\, desert festivals in the Australian Outback\, and the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s modernized new capital Astana\, the band spreads its message by building bridges across musical cultures in their own unique way. \nDirtwire plays an array of instruments both ancient and modern\, including West African kamale ngonis\, jaw harps\, space fiddles\, whamola basses\, Rickenbacher electric 12 string guitars\, bowed Banjos and mouth harps from around the globe\, all interwoven into modern laptop beat creation. Hailing from the underground west coast electronic bass music scene Dirtwire finds itself at the forefront of experimental electronic music production mixing in their wide array of world instruments with sampled beats and 808’s. Dirtwire’s live shows are a communal psychedelic journey\, ranging from down home boot stomping get downs\, to bass and blues electronic mashups\, to ethereal cinematic beat driven soundscapes. Woven into each is the exploration of where live instruments meet computer production\, and where tradition meets experimentation. \nBrothers Matt and Mark Hill are the sonic visionaries behind electronic-funk powerhouse The Floozies. Certified heavyweights in the world of jam and future-groove\, the Kansas City-based tandem champion authentic funk in the digital age. \nFamiliar with sold-out shows across the country including their annual hometown Funk Street festival\, prominent festival appearances at Bonnaroo\, Electric Forest\, High Sierra\, Summercamp\, Wakarusa\, Camp Bisco\, Summerset\, Bumbershoot\, and headlining Red Rocks shows\, their formidable sound is continuously celebrated from coast to coast. \nTickets and more information. \nLodging discounts from our hotel partners:Hotel Don FernandoSagebrush Inn & SuitesHampton Inn Taos

SUMMARY:Borromeo String Quartet with pianist Robert McDonald
DESCRIPTION:The visionary performances of the Borromeo String Quartet have established them as one of the most important string quartets of our time. “They probe and analyze from every angle until they discover how to best unveil the psychological\, physical\, and spiritual states that a great piece of music evokes. They’re champions of new music…but they also thrive on making the old classics sound vital and fresh\,” said Cathy Fuller\, Classical New England host on WGBH radio. She continued\, “To hear and see them perform has always felt to me like taking a private tour through a composer’s mind.” The Borromeo have been trailblazers in the use of laptop computers for reading music. This method allows them to perform entirely from 4-part scores and also composer’s manuscripts\, a revealing and transformative experience that they now teach to students around the world. \nThe Quartet has received many awards throughout their illustrious career\, including Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Career Grant and Martin E. Segal Award\, and Chamber Music America’s Cleveland Quartet Award. They won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions and top prizes at the International String Quartet Competition in Evian\, France. \nPianist Robert McDonald has played extensively as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States\, Europe\, Asia\, and South America. He has appeared with major orchestras in the United States and Latin America\, and was the recital partner for many years to Isaac Stern\, as well as other celebrated instrumentalists. Mr. McDonald has also performed with the Takács\, Vermeer\, Juilliard\, Brentano\, Borromeo\, American\, and Shanghai string quartets\, and in tours with Music from Marlboro. \nHis discography includes recordings for Sony Classical\, Bridge\, Vox\, Musical Heritage Society\, ASV\, and CRI\, and Mr. McDonald’s prizes include the Gold Medal at the Busoni International Piano Competition\, the William Kapell International Competition\, and the Deutsche Schallplatten Critics Award. He has studied with Theodore Rehl\, Seymour Lipkin\, Rudolf Serkin\, Mieczyslaw Horszowski\, Beveridge Webster\, and Gary Graffman\, and holds degrees from Lawrence University\, The Curtis Institute of Music\, The Juilliard School\, and the Manhattan School of Music.

DESCRIPTION:Chris Brochu is an actor/musician who spent most of his childhood bouncing around from state to state until\, seemingly by fate\, he found himself in Taos which he has now called home for the past 6 years. Though his songs are extremely personal to him\, he believes in the unifying ability they hold because\, “We all experience life through the filters of love\, loss and longing.”
