SUMMARY:Taos Mountain Balloon Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Taos Mountain Balloon Rally has truly been a Taos community event. Every year on the last full weekend in October\, as the trees in the high country erupt into a painter’s canvas of oranges\, reds\, ambers and yellows\, even more color is added to the vista as the Taos skies are filled with dozens of brightly colored hot air balloons lifting into the clear\, cold dawn of a Taos Mountain sunrise. \nSmaller than many such events\, the Taos Mountain Balloon Rally is an invitational and typically hosts 35-50 balloons and crews each year. The rally – primarily because it is smaller and more intimate – has become a popular stop for balloonists\, families and crews\, Taoseños and visitors alike. Parents and kids get up-close and personal” with the balloonists every morning as the crews prepare for launch. The three‐day event includes mass ascensions at dawn\, balloon glows in the evening\, a parade and a grand ball. \n\nMorning mass ascensions Saturday & Sunday\nMeet the pilots\nLive music Saturday evening\nFood\, coffee\, arts & craft vendors Saturday & Sunday\nTrick or Treat balloon glow Saturday after dark\nFree tethered balloon rides for local school kids Friday morning\n\nMore information & Schedule.

SUMMARY:MovementLab’s Immersive Workshop
DESCRIPTION:MovementLab’s Immersive Workshop explores mindful process-based movement practices with Nadine Lollino\, artistic director of local performance collective\, MovementLab. Offering a deep-dive into this generative process\, a framework is created from which what you discover can emerge through curiosity and experimentation instead of from choreography. \nThe goal is to reinhabit our expressive self through the use of creative movement\, sensory imagination\, memory\, emotions\, drawing/writing\, and natural elements. This weekend will focus on nature’s adaptability\, interconnectivity\, and impermanence\, and their connection to our human experience. This creative and therapeutic approach to reconnecting with our genuine self exists beyond the studio\, it becomes a toolset for a more authentic and adaptable perspective to daily life and our relationships with self\, others and place. \nMovementLab’s work is rooted in diverse modalities\, including meditation\, yoga\, poetry\, qigong\, modern dance\, improvisation\, Butoh\, and expressive therapies. All you need is the willingness to be amazed. Previous experience is unnecessary. \nClass will be held at the Center for Creative Learning\, at the Harwood Museum\, Taos New Mexico \nOctober 24-25\, 2026\n9am to 4:30pm each day with a flexible one hour lunch break \n2-day workshop (includes free admission to the Friday evening performance) \nFor more information and to register.

SUMMARY:The Rifters
DESCRIPTION:Come scoot your boots across the dance floor with The Rifters as they bring their three-part harmonies and bluegrass desert Americana sound to the stage. This live concert is part of the DALEEE KTAOS weekly Sunday 2-Step Series\n$15 cover \n5pm Two Step Dance Lessons included with ticket to the show. \nThe Rifters are Rod Taylor (guitar\, mandolin\, vocals)\, Don Richmond (guitar\, mandolin\, fiddle\, banjo\, pedal steel guitar\, dobro\, harmonica\, vocals)\, and Jim Bradley (bass\, vocals). Putting out more music than it seems should be right for three guys on stage\, the Rifters employ a wide range of acoustic and electric instruments\, combined with soaring three-part harmonies\, to provide a mesmerizing variety of music from driving blue-grama-grass to ethereal desert beauty. The years of playing to the dance crowds in their northern New Mexico homeland has given their music a toe-tapping rhythm that is engaging and undeniable. With a pedigree of bands like Hired Hands\, the Rounders\, and South by Southwest among them\, the Rifters are truly a musical voice of the west\, and their region of high desert vistas and mountain majesty.

SUMMARY:Alborosie w/ Innastate
DESCRIPTION:Alborosie w/ Innastate at The Mothership. Reggae’s now gone beyond race and nationality\, just like Rastafari. It’s Jamaica’s gift to the world and Planet Earth loves it – not just for those irrepressible rhythms\, but what the music stands for. It’s therefore no surprise to learn that fifty years after its birth\, reggae’s current elite includes a singer from Sicily – one turned Jamaican national\, and whose artistry has continued to grow and develop with every release. \nHis latest album Sound The System is a real landmark. In addition to his talents as a singer and deejay\, Alborosie writes the majority of his own material and plays virtually everything we hear on his records. He’s the modern-day Renaissance man – a global citizen who demonstrates mastery of traditional reggae whilst pointing the way forward for himself and the genre. Evoking classics of old\, his music doesn’t just sound great; it has meaning. Alborosie may not be Jamaican by birth\, yet he promotes reggae music in its truest sense. With dreadlocks almost touching the floor\, he’s a proud Rastafarian armed with rebel philosophy\, yet there’s a celebratory air to his music that’s impossible to resist at times. \nInnastate is formed around the core\, Adrian Wall of Jemez Pueblo (guitar/vocal)\, Rylan Kabotie of Santa Clara Pueblo/Jicarilla Apache (bass/vocal)\, and Lawrence Bailon of Santa Clara Pueblo/Kewa Pueblo (drums). Innasate’s lineup expands for live performances\, utilizing such talents as Romeo C. Alonzo (alto sax) and Delbert Anderson (trumpet) to name a few!\nThe band released their debut self-titled EP in April of 2015 to wide acclaim and a growing fan base that earned the group Artist of the Month by RockwiredMagazine.com and the 2016 Rockwired Reader’s poll award for Best Performance by an American Indian/First Nations Band or Artist. In 2016 Innastate was nominated for “Best Reggae Song” by the New Mexico Music Awards. In 2019\, The Native American Music Awards recognized Innastate as the “Debut Duo/Group of the Year!” \nCrafted after a rigorous live performance schedule following their first EP release\, the band’s evolving sound and songwriting is showcased on their debut full length CD\, “Verde”\, released September 2018. \nInnastate has shared the stage with reggae greats The Wailers\, Native Roots\, Tribal Seeds\, Pato Banton\, Nahko\, The Green\, The Hu\, Natural Vibrations\, Stick Figure\, Common Kings\, The Mad Caddies\, Black Uhuru\, Jesse Royal\, Fishbone\, Through the Roots\, The Meditations\, New Kingston\, Ballyhoo and Abstract Rude. \nFor more information and tickets.
